WBC will initiate pilots of Project NILO in select high schools, colleges, and universities over the next two years.
WBC intends to reflect diversity in the pilots, geographically and size sampling, as well as including an HBCU and an Ivy League university. We will work closely with administrators and athletic departments to design programs, counseling referrals, and opportunities that are helpful, not intrusive for students already juggling school and sports workouts, and complementary to, not duplicative of, programs universities already in place. Universities can aid with communication about the program and referrals among their student populations, providing venues for any on-campus activities, cooperation/inclusion in grants pursued by the program by WBC, needing university-specific tweaks to the program curriculum, etc.
WBC will provide reputable, objective advice to student-athletes and their parents about how to seek, negotiate, evaluate, and accept compensation offers, and, more importantly, to give them the skills, knowledge, and abilities to create viable businesses they can OWN during and after college. “Ownership” is the “O” in Project NILO!
Sign up to keep updated about the program.
